Blackberries in the summer and apples in the fall are two of the most popular U-pick crops. U-pick farms make for a great low-cost adventure that gets you up close with SLO CAL’s agricultural heritage. To get even closer to the food source, grab some comfortable shoes, and head out to the orchard or field to select your own produce. Many farmers are happy to chat about their commitment to local, sustainable farming practices. Interfaith Food Shuttle Farm Stand An intimate, country-style space just 10 minutes from downtown, Interfaith Food Shuttle’s self-serve farm stand is driven by the organization’s goal of providing the community with the tools and needs necessary to eradicate hunger in the state. Our farm sits on 11 acres in the northeast corner of Bellingham, and is criss-crossed by Squalicum Creek. Some stands also offer regional flowers, honey, eggs and oils. Bellingham, WA Bee Bluff Farm will offer a farmstand this year, and you will see us at the farmers markets as well.

Depending on the time of year, you’ll discover packed-with-flavor berries, peaches, plums, carrots, asparagus and broccoli. Enjoy fresh produce, and experience firsthand the care that goes into getting produce from farm-to-table through a visit to a SLO CAL farm stand or U-pick farm.įarm stands dot SLO CAL’s back roads, providing fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables that vary by season. We are striving to make fresh, local produce.

Local farms thrive in SLO CAL, where agriculture is still a way of life. Most of the food we grow is sold through our farm stands which are located at the Y.
